Speaker Bio

Awstin Gregg is an accomplished leader in the behavioral health sector, bringing over a decade of experience to his role as CEO of Pathroot Health. With a career focused on enhancing mental health services and expanding access to care, Awstin has held executive roles in several prominent organizations.

Awstin began his career at Universal Health Services, one of the nation’s largest and most respected psychiatric hospitals, ultimately become its Chief Executive Officer. In 2018, founded a behavioral health services provider in Texas treating a diverse array of mental health disorders with a special focus on intense day treatment therapy programs (IOP and PHP), dual-diagnosis and substance use disorder (SUD). As CEO, he grew the organization from a single location to over a dozen offices, employing hundreds of professionals and providing a wide range of mental health services.

Awstin served as Senior Vice President of Outpatient Division II at Vertava Health, where he oversaw the expansion of outpatient services nationally, including virtual care solutions that increased patient access and improved efficiency.

Awstin holds a Master of Business Administration from Texas Woman’s University, a Master of Social Work from Texas A&M University-Commerce, and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of North Texas. Additionally, he earned a degree from Harvard University, further broadening his expertise in leadership and organizational strategy.

Awstin also contributes to the field as an adjunct professor at Texas Christian University, Texas A&M University-Commerce, and the University of North Texas. In 2023, he was recognized by D Magazine as one of Dallas’ 500 most powerful business leaders.

Under his leadership, his organizations have won over 250 Best-in-Class awards, including the coveted "Best Places to Work in the Nation" award in 2022. In addition to his leadership pursuits, he is also a public speaker who has provided advocacy with the United States Senate and House of Representatives. Awstin has provided keynote speaking events locally, nationally, and internationally. His written publications have been viewed over 100,000,000 times in over 1,000 languages across the world.
